MY Poetry ILT Review
One week ago we had ILT. The theme for our ILT was Poetry.
Poetry is a form of writing in which it expresses your feelings and emotions that sometimes rhymes.
people write poetry to express their feelings like how they think about something. There were 6 tasks in total that we had to complete in 5 days some of the tasks that we did was a task called Terminology it was were we had to research some words and find out their meanings and record ourselves saying it in our own way that we understood it. Another task that we did was called Poetry writing were we got into groups of three and we had to pick a theme and write three different types of poems on the the theme.
The third task is called Black Out Poetry, it is when you take a piece of newspaper or a page out of a book and using the words on the paper to make a poem, then to draw around it using a black marker to make a picture around the poem. the 4th task that we did was a poetry slam where we got into groups of three and made a poem of a specific topic our topic was bullying and at the end of the week we would show our poems to the other classes and while you were watching the groups you had to write the good things about the poems and the bad things about the poems. The next task is called Analyzing Poems you had to pick one of the poems that you wanted to analyze and you had to answer questions about that poem.
Task six is called Imagery we had to choose one of the poems and allow it to inspire us to draw a picture and then we had to write a paragraph about the picture that we drew. My personal best was the poetry slam because you got to make your own poem and my worst activity was the Analyzing poems because I found it boring and didn't understand some of the questions. My most challenging a task was the black out poetry because you had to make a poem out of the words on the piece of paper you were given. I was very shy and nervous to perform in front of the others. i learnt most of my vocabulary in the terminology task because we had to search the meanings of the words o the task.
I learnt that i could make some good poems when I put my heart into it. I really enjoyed the ILT it wasn't my favorite ILT but it was one of my favorite ILT's.
